Oh, So Good!

Dear Graeter's Ice Cream,

I LOVE you and all your deliciousness. Unfortunately back at Miami University I never ate you. Back then I "believed" I was allergic to ice cream. Come to find out, I never really was. My mom just told me that as a child, and I lived most of my life believing this! To her defense, I did get sick on it ONCE when I had it.

Sadly I no longer live near Cincinnati, and I can only eat you when I visit Denver. This week I have eaten an entire pint of Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip. I want to drive to the market now so I can pick up my second favorite, Coconut Chip.

Oh Graeter's will you please distribute past Colorado - like say, Los Angeles?!?!! I promise, people really do eat ice cream there. It is not just all Pinkberry and Yogurtland.

Pretty please! XOXO
Kyle

I Gained 5 Pounds By Just Reading This...

Tomorrow I will be making Ree's Fancy Macaroni, and then I might also bake her Monkey Bread.

This cookbook is definitely not on Operation Hot Body's agenda. Tisk, tisk on me!

So Many Questions I Could Get CARRIEd Away...

So late last night I saw the official SATC 2 Movie trailer had been posted on E!Online. I immediate went to check it out! OMG it looks sooo good! As I posted a few posts back, I will be seeing this film on May 28th - or maybe earlier for a special screening *fingers-crossed.*

There's lots of talk and lots of YouTube videos of what might happen in the movie! I don't want to spoil it for myself, so I am going to stay away from those videos. But I do wonder - Why is Carrie hanging out in her old apartment (this can't be one of the many flashbacks in the film by the way it is painted - i.e. SATC Movie 1)? Who is the new hunk Samantha is eyeing (and I've heard marriage rumors)? Lots and lots of questions - but my BIGGEST question of all is.... why did they let Miley Cyrus have a cameo? She is WAY too young to even watch this show in reruns - or maybe not since she pole danced at the Teen Choice Awards - gross.

I seriously NEVER want this franchise to end! I wonder what new IT shoe will come out of this film.

I love SJP and Carrie Bradshaw. So chic, so cool, and always the style icon. I am loving those sparklely shoes!

The Reason I Love Shoes

Growing up I had a love/hate relationship with shoes. Don't ask me why, I guess I was crazy and didn't yet understand the magnitude of an amazing pair of shoes.

My mom on the other hand has always LOVED shoes. She use to say no matter if she was 5 pounds one way or the other, her shoes never let her down. I totally understand this mindset now!

Below are some shoes that will be making their way to my house in the next few weeks or months. By the way, I really love/hate pre-orders. I am very into instant gratification, so pre-ordering these Tory Burch beauties is KILLING me.

I think these would be adorable for the Pro Bowl parties at the end of January. I worry that they might be too holiday-ish. I equate peacock feathers to holiday time for some reason.

And, I have been wanting a pair of cowboy boots for 3+ years. This year they became really popular, and I still can't seem to find my perfect pair. Sometimes I make up the perfect item in my head, and then nothing can live up to this item. If these were a little lighter and more vintage looking I would buy them in a heartbeat!

The Magic of Christmas

Yesterday as I was finishing up my Christmas shopping, I overheard two little boys who thought they saw Santa Claus in the sky. They told their mom something shot across the sky, and it was Santa. Their mom told them that maybe it was a shooting star because Santa wasn't out flying yet. In that moment, it made me stop and remember the magical side of Christmas. Sometimes in our hectic lives we forget how special this time of the year really is. It made me smile, and really miss my inner child.

I am off to home, Colorado, on Wednesday. I am really excited to see my mom and dad. I miss them everyday, but seeing them on holidays makes it extra special. I am blessed to have such amazing and supportive parents.

I'm With Brad

No I don't have a new boyfriend. I have a favorite new nail color. It is OPI and sold at Sephora. The description was shimmering wine over chocolate, and I LOVE it! Normally I am a matte nail color girl - no sparkles or iridescent colors for me.

I'm With Brad is only available at Sephora! After weeks of nail color envy, I think I have found my perfect holiday shade!

Maybe I will post a picture of it on my nails later. They are currently drying... then I gotta do some clean up on them :) In case you are wondering, I am typing with two fingers like a 5 year old.

A Review and Film Checklist

Last week I went to see Coco By Chanel. I was super excited to see it because I LOVE the life of Coco Chanel (that could and might be another post), and I love Audrey Tautou. Overall I really liked the movie, but it was slow at times. I think I had built it up to be a better movie than it really ever could have hoped to be.

One thing I did love about it was the love story/stories. I'd call it a modern day love story - which in my definition is a love affair that does not end in typical Hollywood fashion. Sometimes in life two people come together for a moment or even years in order fulfill a need in their lives. This is not a selfish love, but one that is needed in order to move on and grow in life. When I worked on Once, I had to explain this exact concept to my boss when he said he was disappointed the film ended the way it did.

OK I think I might have spoiled two films for the person who might be reading this blog (still not quite sure there are many but one or two of you, but that is ok). Overall, I would definitely say go see it - or buy it on DVD when it comes out! ;)

Now onto my must see list. This list will take me through early 2010 - mainly looking towards Academy Award time!
1. Avatar - Seeing it Friday at 8:30 am. Another reason I need to remember I like my job - I get to see movies during the day.
2. A Single Man - Tom Ford's first forte into film as writer/director/producer. I think I am going to see on Saturday, and I cannot wait!
3. Crazy Heart - This year's Wrestler. Basically its Once meets Wrestler. It has Academy written all over it!
4. Alvin & The Chipmunks: Squeakel - Not an Oscar contender, but a fun family movie to see on Christmas!
5. Alice in Wonderland - Trailer is breathtaking and Tim Burton is a genious. Comes out early March ... seems like an odd date for the release.
6. Up in the Air - George Clooney enough said - BUT WAIT there is lots of Oscar buzz and GG nominations already!
7. Lots more... but I could honestly go on forever! SATC 2 is on my list, but May is too far out to be considered on THIS list! I have about 20-30 films to see before then!

The Ladies Are Back!

The ladies of Sex and the City will be back on May 28, 2010, and I CANNOT WAIT! When the last SATC movie came out, my whole team took the day off and went to lunch and then the movie. It was amazing, and hopefully we can repeat it again this time! Gotta remember a movie day is one of the perks of my job - gotta keep repeating that on certain days.

Coco Before Chanel

After several months of rescheduling, my friends and I are off to see Coco Before Chanel! I have been so excited to see this film since it opened up in LA several months ago! Thank goodness it is still playing in a theater in Santa Monica.

Hopefully we'll have time before or after to grab a quick bite. There are tons of places in Santa Monica that make my belly very happy ~ especially my favorite Buddha's Belly! Yummy!

Christmas Presents for Myself

Some people may think it's wrong to buy yourself a Christmas present, but I disagree. I also buy myself birthday presents as well. I have a VERY STRESSFUL and busy life, so I like to treat myself! I will also say that I am very smart with my money. I believe that you shouldn't buy something if you can't afford it - HELLO current economic crisis!

With that said, I am now banned from buying myself anything else! I have already bought myself a present - and spent all the money I will receive as Christmas "gifts." I totally correlate my shopping habits to how stressed out at work I am. I will let you know that I have gone shopping every weekend the past two months - yikes!

Below are my favorite things I bought myself this weekend:

Field Jacket from JCrew in Mossy Brown. I have already received a ton of compliments on it!

Moroccan Oil for my hair. Already loving it!

Chanel Eye Concealer - It's supposed to lift and rejuvenate. We'll see, and of course it was purchased in whatever color equates to the color of my skin - Pale Irish Girl.

Soda Cake

I am going home tonight to bake a soda cake or pop cake depending on where you are from. Has anyone ever tired it? I have read several different recipes, but most recipes call for cake mix and your favorite soda. I think I might try strawberry or funfetti cake mix and sprite, but I have also read that diet DP and red velvet cake is great as well!

Yum! Of course the icing might be what kills any bit of "healthiness" in this cake.

Keeping Me Honest

So I signed up for the Santa Barbara Half-Marathon a few weeks ago - maybe it was even over a month ago - and I have yet to really start training for the dang event! The race is in May, and I do run from time to time.... BUT a half-marathon is serious business and I need to jump to it.

By May OHB (Operation Hot Body) will be in full force! I wanna look good for my summer vacaction, and I am tried of feeling sluggish lately. Maybe I could post my actual runs and weight loss so it keeps me moviated and honset. The later is still TBC on posting. :)

Here is to waking up early tomorrow, and actually getting out the door with running shoes!
