Rosarita Ensenada 50 Mile Bike Ride

Dylan and I participated in the Rosarito Ensenada 50 Mile Bike Race. I had the greatest intentions of taking lots of pictures to document the trip, but in the end 50 miles is a long bike ride and I got way too tired and sweaty to take pictures.
The ride did make me realize how fortunate we are here in the US. I was really affected by all the conditions we saw on our bike ride. I have been to Mexico before, and I have been to Mexico City which is really poor. BUT when we drove through TJ I was sickened and saddened by the conditions. It really made me want to donate to a charity in the area. I need to still research that a little more, it is definitely something I'd like to do. I told Dylan instead of buying gifts we don't need this Christmas, we should help out those who really need our help.
Starting Line

Cruising - Probably 15 mile mark.

Best fish tacos I have ever had. We stopped at a little
place and had a fish taco "snack." I'd do the race again
just to stop at this place for another fish taco.

Taking a quick scenic break. We really weren't racing.

Refueling. This is were I stopped taking pictures. Not long after we started biking massive hills and my energy and want to document this trip wavered.
In the end, I am so glad we did the ride. If you think 50 miles sound like a long race it is, but it is doable - even if you aren't an avid cyclist. I think I will definitely try another long distance ride, but I'd prefer one without the "Hill of Death" and the "Hill of Hell."
